The Alternative Blog

CELEBRATION TIME

Lily Mullen, the winner of The Bradford Textiles Society Competition sponsored by Alternative Flooring and British Wool, tells us the inspiring story behind creating her design and what this award means to her.

Smalls: Happy underneath it all

Tis the season to keep your toes warm and happy! We have asked like-minded British brand Smalls, to tell us why they love wool.

The Pink House and her new Patterned Carpet

Emily Murray is the founder and editor of The Pink House, an award-winning interiors blog. Emily has chosen our Quirky B Liberty Fabrics Capello Shell patterned carpet for her bedroom, so we thought it’s time to pay a visit.

Woolability – live naturally and choose wool carpets

Flooring is where wool excels. Let’s spin some of the benefits of wool carpets in the home. Practically speaking wool is resilient, stain resistant, flame-retardant, a natural insulator and as a soundproofer brings much welcomed peace and quiet to interiors.

Pattern Play!

Forget stars and stripes, florals and stripes make the perfect pairing this summer. Pattern play is all the rage on the catwalks walks with eye-popping florals mixing with stripes in every which way. It’s a winning fashion combination that is inspiring interiors too.

A Bright Future for Wool at Wool Week

Wool Week is always a whirlwind of activity! This year the Wool BnB gave us all a moment to be proud of! It was intended to be a truly creative space showcasing a colourful mix of the potential of wool to make a home comfortable, tactile and visually stimulating. The fabulous flooring in the living areas was provided by Alternative Flooring with Liberty Fabrics collection.

Nice to see ewe…at Wool BnB

Alternative Flooring loves wool and we swiftly got into the spirit for Woolly Hat Day, but our highlight of Wool Week was taking part in The Campaign for Wool’s first ever Wool BnB where everything from carpets to cardigans was made of this most natural of fibres.
